Historical documents of Castelcivita

Exceptional historical documents from Castelcivita preserved in private archives at the National Academy of the Lincei in Rome.          These are two drawings made by Prof. Architect   Paterna Baldizzi, on the occasion of the architect's visit to Castelcivita in 1908 to carry out a census of works and sacred furnishings of artistic value.

Leonardo Paterna Baldizzi (Palermo 1868 - Rome 1944), architect and university professor. After studying at the Institute of Fine Arts at the University of Palermo, he first moved to Rome in 1894 where he won the competition for the three-year scholarship of the National Artistic Pension, then to Turin and finally in 1905 to Naples, where he held the chair of architectural drawing at the University. Author of studies and research in the field of art history, architecture, and monument restoration.
He wrote his many travel diaries, polemical articles, and historical essays with the same passion with which he taught and drew architecture.
It is a site to visit. Below I include some photos "extracted" from the site. Link http://193.206.236.60/

The architect went in 1908 to Altavilla, Eboli, Castelcivita, and in 1901 and 1927 to Paestum.
